I moved to the area a couple of months ago and am so excited to have discovered this restaurant so close to me. I have ordered take out many times at this point, although the restaurant is lovely with a cozy ambiance. I will eat there someday! The staff are very friendly. They have affordable lunch and combination specials with everything you could want - rice, soup, salad, fried goodness, broccoli, and the dinners come with a sliced orange. I am addicted to their white rice. The shrimp tempura and katsu are not overly condimented and taste fresh, and are always perfectly crispy. The green mussels were a generous serving, meaty and so tasty. The shrimp shu mai and gyoza are very good. The maki rolls are also worth it, especially the 3x combo.

Enjoyed my lunch here. Miso soup is really good. Googled Japanese restaurant near me when I happened to be in the area and was happy i came to Higashi! Would definitely come back.
