I have heard some people speak well of this place, years back, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and staff ignored us. Eventually someone told us to just sit wherever we wanted. The place was dark and drab inside. We noticed posters taped to the wall with scotch tape. Our waitress did a good job so no complaints with her. When our food came out it was luke warm at best. I had to go to another table to find a salt shaker...and once I got it, I didn't want to use it. It looked like it had been rolled in egg and flour (or something)? The food tasted okay but the atmosphere was terrible and the place just didn't seem clean. This was our one and only visit.

The food was amazing and so freshly made. By far, the best oriental food in the area. I wish they would modernize the place a bit and make it look more appealing. Employees should be more presentable and better dressed when waiting tables. Food, atmosphere, cleanliness, design and quality are essential for a restaurant.

Ok… I figured it’s about time to write a review about Yamato in Somerset Ky. We’ve been there several times now, but today will be the last. Don’t get me wrong… the food is delicious. No problem there. But the restaurant is filthy and disgusting. There was nobody dining at the time we walked in. But several tables still had dirty plates, there was debris on the floor, and the soy sauce and the drink flip cards on the table were sticky and gummy, disgusting to touch. When we arrived, the waitress and and the manager were both sitting, and on their phones. Not bothering to clean. Awhile after our food was served, the waitress cleared off the table next to us, but did not bother to wipe it down. The appearance of the waitress was not professional at all. No particular dress code, and the filth under her fingernails was repulsive. But once again, to be fair… the food is very good. So, basically, if you don’t mind the filth, you definitely won’t be disappointed!
