Best sushi I’ve ever had in the USA. I recommend reserving a table because this place gets pretty busy. And of course it does! Fresh fish, courteous staff, chill vibe.

Amazing sushi. Very high quality ingredients and great service. Some of the best sushi I ever had if not the best. Will recommend. Had to wait in line even on a Tuesday evening - was worth the wait.

I was born and raised in Japan and I can say that the food here is delicious and authentic. Everytime I come to SLO for work, this is my go-to restaurant for much of my dinner and sometimes lunch. Lunch combo is a good deal (under $25) with fresh fried tempura. The raw fish is fresh, many of which are shipped from Japan. If you are hungry and/or want to have a little bit of different kinds of sashimi, the Kaisen Chirashi is the way to go. Omakase is a good experience too. They also have typical Japanese foods like udon, soba, gyudon, etc which are all very delicious. Staff is knowledgeable about Japanese food and the fish and they are very friendly. Prepare to wait or make reservations on weekends because there will be a line! Solo diners can usually get a seat at the counter fairly quickly though.
