I came in looking for faults but fell in love. Craving for katsu curry after 8p, I walked through a well lit neighborhood tucked in the middle of SF. Inside it was mostly empty except for 1 table in the corner. I hesitated but sat down & ordered my goto at any Japanese izakaya. They serve the chicken variety, on a bed of piping hot mushroom curry. Sadly the precious soft boiled egg was missing. It was 20min to closing & a few more patreons came in. No one was turned away. Down to the last 2 pieces of fried cutiet & the curry was still steaming. Rice was good. Atmosphere was good. The little treat with my bill was a nice touch. I hate giving 5 stars but

Felt super cozy in this small restaurant. Feels like you’re eating in someone’s house! Traditional Japanese flavors with a bit of that modern umph.

Cute neighborhood spot with Japanese comfort food. The mentaiko spaghetti is my favorite here. It's so rich and the noodles are perfectly al dente.
