I decided to visit Sushi Ota after seeing over 4,000 glowing yelp reviews, but I’ll admit I was hesitant at first. The location, tucked away in a plaza next to a 7-Eleven, made me second-guess all the hype. However, the moment I took my first bite, all doubts disappeared—this is, without a doubt, the best sushi I’ve ever had! My husband and I opted for the omakase, and every single piece was a masterpiece. The freshness of the ingredients, the skill in preparation, and the attention to detail were truly unmatched. Each bite was a revelation, from the perfectly seasoned rice to the melt-in-your-mouth fish. What made the experience even more special was having our baby with us at the table. The staff, including the chefs and waiters, were incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly, making us feel so welcome despite dining with a little one. The ambiance was relaxed and inviting, and our baby enjoyed it just as much as we did! This experience completely exceeded our expectations, and we will absolutely recommend Sushi Ota to everyone. It’s not just a meal—it’s an unforgettable experience for the whole family. We’re already planning to come back the next time we’re in San Diego. By far one of the best sushi restaurants we’ve ever been to, with the highest quality ingredients and incredible flavor. Very impressed!

Pretty decent sushi spot. Little overpriced for how it tasted but still good! Presentation and inside was really nice! Gave that Japanese vibe that I liked. Server was really nice until they left for the day and we didn’t know!
