This place is now at the top of the list for Japanese in Marin (and I’d argue Bay Area). We stopped by for lunch and the specials are a great value - sashimi is high quality and delicious. The crispy rice sushi bites are a unique texture and tasty. Staff was delightfully friendly and flexible.

The sushi was the highlight—fresh, delicate, and expertly crafted, as you can see from my pictures. Even the wasabi is quality, not the usual paste, but freshly grated. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, you know that the rice, fish, and wasabi are key, and Kuronami pays attention to every detail. The ambiance and service matched the exceptional quality of the food, making it a truly memorable experience. Worth every penny!"
