Ordered the chef’s special! Dennis surprised us with this beautiful box! Sashimi, and Tuna and crab roll, Sylvia’s roll 😊, was amazingly delicious! Everyone is so kind. Atmosphere is relaxing!

A true gem of a locally owned restaurant. The ramen is obscenely good. I'm normally a classic Tonkatsu gal, but the spicy kimchi with short rib blew my mind. Very friendly staff, and a communal atmosphere with lots of regulars. The owner was working behind the sushi bar and made me feel like a long time customer even though it's only my second time in. Great spot close to Sac State.

I have been to Kansai a few times with friends and it's always been on point! Parking can be a bit challenging. It's not a big restaurant and can get busy but we have never had an issue getting a table. Our server was very friendly and checked on our table frequently. Our table ordered the fried calamari, edamame, gyoza, and raw oysters for starters. The calamari was great and the dipping sauce was excellent! The raw oysters were fresh! We ordered some sashimi and rolls as well. The sashimi was excellent, very fresh fish! We all enjoyed our rolls which were the Kansai, Spicy Vargas, and 65th. My son ordered the bone marrow ramen which he really enjoyed. Kansai is a great little sushi and ramen spot!
