My husband and I visited this location for the first time on Valentine's day. We had an 8pm reservation that he made 3 weeks in advance. Despite our reservation, and us arriving 5 minutes earlier, we had to wait 45 minutes outside because they over-booked and I'm pretty sure I saw them letting the walk-ins get seated before people with reservations. Honestly, when we arrived there were walk-ins that had been waiting for +2.5 hours, but I still don't think it's right to let someone with a reservation wait outside for almost an hour. What is the point of a reservation?? As far as the atmosphere goes, I felt like we were sardines in the restaurant because it was so packed and all the tables were smushed together I don't even know how the servers managed to travel all around the restaurant. Also, for this big (in size) of a restaurant, they had the smallest bar EVER. Once we sat down and the server took our orders, I had to wait an additional 30 mins for a mojito. Come on. My husband got the hibachi package for Vday and the chefs were very friendly. Can't comment on the rest of their menu.

Depending on who the chef is, makes a difference on your experience. Example the table beside us.The chef just basically stood there and cooked the food but said and did nothing. Our chef was amazing and funny. Interacting with us. Food was average.

I recently dined here for my daughter's birthday and it was a great experience. The emphasis on experience. The hibachi was fantastic and our cook was very entertaining. We told him it was out daughter's birthday and he created her age with a heart using the rice. My daughter was so happy with the experience. Definitely recommend visiting Japan Inn to celebrate. The service staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating. We will be returning, especially knowing sushi is half off all day on Tuesdays!
