First time in and this place is so cute! They did an excellent job decorating to make it feel more authentic. Our chef was nice but seemed very young… he tried to make small talk with us but we were surprised when he brought up some pretty controversial subjects. The soup and salad were just okay, soup didn’t have great flavor and salad was a little watery. The beef fried rice was excellent and the meat was all cooked pretty well. I don’t like how they piled all the food together on one little plate and how they cooked the veggies first, it would have been nice to eat them with the rest of the meal. The chef was very quick with everything, it wasn’t a show like I thought it would be at Benihana, it was more like quick cook all your food and then leave. My favorite part was the ice cream. The green tea ice cream was excellent!! The other staff who grabbed water and boxed up the leftovers, they were all very nice. Overall I don’t think the price matched the experience. It’s okay to have inflated prices if the quality matches but unfortunately I don’t feel the quality was high enough for the price. If you have money to burn then for sure I would recommend checking out but I can’t say I would recommend this place to those on a budget.

We usually go to the Ron of Japan's down in Chicago on Ontario Street. Some friends of ours got into town and asked if we could go to the one in Northbrook. We decided to give it a shot. The ambiance was nice. The service was very good. However, even though the food looked wonderful, three of us got sick later. I think the management definitely needs to keep an eye on the quality of their food.

Thoroughly disappointed with this restaurant. Our server was very kind and the decorations were nice, but the food was mediocre at best. For such an expensive restaurant, you would expect quality food, but it was greasy and the egg sauce is gross. The only dish I'd say was worth it was the chocolate lava cake, which was after the hibachi experience of course. Would not recommend.
