So I decided to take myself out on a dinner date and was craving hibachi. Didn’t want to go out of the Cape Coral area so I decided to try out this place. I came in about 7 pm and there was no one there. From the pictures, I thought the place was a little bigger, but it’s not too big not too small. They greeted me very nicely no awkwardness. I sat down quickly and was able to order very quickly. Drink and appetizers came out in less than five minutes, my food came out in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the dynamite roll and shrimp hibachi, 10 out of 10 for each. I’m not even exaggerating. I am a very tough food critic. Even though the hibachi wasn’t cooked in front of me the layout was open so you can see inside the kitchen, which I loved. I was one of the last people there because they were closing soon everyone else who came in were to go orders and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Left a great tip because the food service was amazing.

This isn’t the sushi you expected, it’s the only sushi you’ll ever want for the rest of your life. I’m talking waking up in a cold sweat as the wisping thought of perfectly wrapped salmon rolls and glistening sashimi cuts leaves you laying in bed wishing for lucid dreams or an afterlife filled with nothing but Hibachi of Japan 3. Why 3? Third times a charm. You’ve seen those shopping plaza china woks that serve you sweet and sour pork. They’re forgettable. This place not only succeeded, but captivated the palates of so many people they’ve opened at least THREE of these bad boys. Prepare to spend the next three weeks looking at your vapid nightly meals and thinking about ending it all because no food will ever live up to the craftsmanship of Hibachi THREE. Edit 3 Years Later Months had passed. A year. Two years. Folks, I have been talking up this establishment for three years now. I have eaten enough sushi to the point of securing the place of apex predator in the salmon's natural food chain, and this place still checks out as number one. I had not gotten my fix for an unjustified amount of time and it finally came to the day I'd share the experience that is HoJ with my girlfriend. I regret to say, I was worried. After telling her about the food here for well over a year, I feared the one hour pilgrimage to the restaurant would not live up to the gilded pedestal I had been straining to keep it on. We crossed fields and rivers and even paid the troll's toll in order to make the journey to the declared best sushi. I spun mouthwatering tales of salmon sushi with cuts of fish so long and hearty that you could not see the rice patty underneath. Avocado so fresh and creamy that it acts as a sealant to prevent your saliva from hitting the table with each bite. Hibachi of Japan, I have to ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness that I had even doubted you for a second. Forgiveness that you would not be consistently delivering the greatest rolls, sushi, and sashimi of only the most choice cuts of fish served at the most optimal of temperature at the most unbeatable of prices. For over three years. We visited on 8/18/2024, 3 years after the original review, and it was as if they knew my doubts and raised the bar. It was the best sushi I have had. They never miss. After three years, I could come back and they not only delivered as good, but a higher standard of sushi. If you have not been here yet, I implore you to make the trip no matter the distance. There will be zero regrets.
