First off, idk how this place is below a 4 star on Yelp. We had an amazing experience from start to finish! The decor, art, and layout were so nice and welcoming. The server was on top of it as well as her colleagues stopping by to help clear plates and refill out waters, it was just an excellent service. My friend and I shared everything and all of it was 5/5! The two clay pot bowls we got, the food runner mixed one of them for us so the fish wouldn’t be compromised and the squeeze bottles of sauces was a nice touch. Sushi rolls were so fresh and I could’ve eaten more, you get some of the crispy rice that settled on the bottle of the bowl 🤤 YUM! My ONLY complaint or recommendation is that the Toro Tartare should be served with some nori or maybe wonton crackers. Everything had great flavors, textures and I can’t wait to come back!

This was my birthday dinner and I was very excited to eat at a restaurant by a chef of this caliber. Maybe my expectations were too high. The evening left me disappointed from start to finish. Bummer. The restaurant itself was packed and the vibe was outstanding. We were seated and ready for an amazing experience. Unfortunately, flavor was missing, seasoning non-existent and the service was abysmal. The mixed vegetables were undercooked (for my taste), the sauce didn't stick and it had zero salt. The duck fried rice was overdressed with sesame oil which dominated everything. The sushi was just ok and nothing to write home about. Service was slow at best and missing most of the time. We left hungry and without dessert. Our server didn't seem concerned that we didn't eat much of the food. Turn that table! The $300 bill was less than expected, but far more than the value and experience we had that night. Quality control seems to be missing. Management is missing. Passion about food and service are missing. Not the standard I would have thought Morimoto would require. I even reached out about our experience and have not heard anything back. Total lack of caring. Would not go back and do not recommend.

Iron Chef Morimoto restaurant in Napa is one of the best places in Napa for sushi and sashimi. The ambience is comfortable and when the weather is nice, the outside dining is great with a nice view of the river. We’ve been here several times and every time we’ve had excellent service the staff, know exactly what kind of wine to recommend. The sticker ribs is always recommended. Some of our favorite dishes include the Duck meatballs #ramen, chasu bop, chefs #sushi combo and oh-toro and Chi-toro which should be called OMG #Toro! For desert, chilled #cheesecake soufflé and fiery salty caramel chocolate tart with chocolate sorbet, vanilla whipped cream, bacardi rum served on fire! The desserts are fantastic but you need to save room for it. I would say the Ramen is great probably not the best in the area, but the broth is fantastic. Totally worth it!
