Came here on January 18th to celebrate my anniversary with my girlfriend, and could not have had a better experience. The venue is small and elegant, while still feeling comfortable. The Restaurant Week tasting menu had the BEST Japanese food i’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. The Chirashi Sushi in particular was breathtaking, with the most flavorful unagi I’ve ever tasted. Everyone remembered our anniversary from my reservation weeks in advance, and the chef/owner came out multiple times to talk to us and even take pictures to commemorate the occasion. The absence of a liquor license was sorely felt, and the non-alcoholic options, while delicious, were a touch expensive for what they are, but I am aware this will be remedied soon. I HIGHLY recommend giving Hal Yamashita a visit. It will exceed your expectations.

My fiancé and I had an amazing experience here last night!! The food and service were impeccable. This was hands down the best sushi we’ve had in Napa. They made us feel so special after getting engaged earlier in the evening. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!

Incredible authentic Japanese food! Owner and chef, Michi, is warm and welcoming and creates delicious food. We went to a soft opening lunch at the new location on enterprise way. Everything was so good! The carpaccio had hamachi and salmon in a delicate ponzu sauce. We saw her attention to detail in her miso soup, which she told us has house made dashi and has a complex flavor. We got the bara sushi with tender grilled unagi, flavorful salmon roe on a bed of sushi rice and the scallop curry rice, a rich and aromatic dish. We can’t recommend enough and we’ve already made reservations for our next visit.
