Went to lampu in june and right after getting my food saw a cockroach right next to my plate of food. After telling our waiter and them getting the manager the manager nonchalantly killed it, as if it was a normal thing. We didn’t touch our food so they asked if we wanted a to go box and when we said no that we weren’t eating it they still charged us for it and only offered us $4 off the tab. We also were eating right next to the sushi bar where they make the sushi which is disgusting to think about roaches being in there.

We arrived for dinner at Lampu Japanese Steakhouse a little after 4 PM. I've never been impressed with the very well-worn decor, paint, and tattered booth seats. If you can look past that the food is really good. But, it does leave me suspicious. We ordered several rolls, and I added the house combo hibachi as it's enough to make another meal or two from it. We also ordered drink, my wife likes the Blue Hawaiian as she says, they know how to make it right. I thought my drink was just an odd fruity rum drink. I'll stick with bourbon whisky. The three rolls did take a while, and the house combo plate wasn't as much as it had been before the economy slowed, but everything was tasty and good. As always, our server was very entertaining and the food very good. Enjoy.
