First time visit this place. It is a small restaurant so they don't have much tables. They have special lunch menus which is good. Their Takoyaki is much try (I'm a fan of Takoyaki, so 8/10). We ordered special lunch menus with sashimi, sushi and tuna roll. Fresh raw fish and thick cut 👍. The Spicy Girl (special roll) was good, light and mild. Will come back next time to try different dishes. It is just that the smell of cigarettes is little bit borther us even the staff smoked outside.

I’m shocked by the high reviews for this place so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I went for lunch in October ‘24 and ordered the lunch platter where you got a sushi roll and some sashimi. Hindsight is 20/20 and if I had looked at the sushi line/prep area I would not have ordered that. I am used to going to chubby trout where everything is fresh and prepared to order. Within about 10 minutes of ordering, my roll and sashimi were ready which seemed way too fast. The tuna roll I ordered was ok but not stellar at all. The sashimi I did not even bother eating. When I looked at the sushi bar i saw just frozen packs of fish everywhere. I was a little freaked out that I was getting such huge quantities of fish for $15, that price didn’t seem to match for high quality fish. The miso soup was as expected, no complaints but not stellar. I took the sashimi and large fish triangles home and even my dog was suspicious of the food. I would not order that dish in particular again. As such, I would Not come here again. Maybe they have other good dishes but since they advertise mainly as a sushi place, I would steer clear. Chubby trout in Elkhart is the only place I trust for sushi around here. I won’t be back here.
