Absolutely delicious and the presentation is off the charts! Even my French wife was impressed : ) Wonderful service, freshest sushi that I've had in years, incredibly tasty, perfect blends of flavors and textures. Loved the Sake selection presentation by one of the knowledgeable owners (see video). My highest recommendation for this excellent Japanese restaurant in Millbrae to experience the Art of Kaiseki in its truest essence!

An authentic experience for everyone who is looking for a solid kaiseki dinner - the restaurant itself isn't large with only about 8 tables per seating. But that's what made it a wonderful dining experience where the staff and the chef pay attention to the details. We really enjoyed the course meal and also added a sake flight. The ingredients were seasonal so we felt that everything was fresh and tasty.

For this price point, the meal was not good. The quality was nice but definitely not reflective at $98 listing price. It started off nice with the amuse Bouche and the sashimi was good. The amuse bouche included like a seaweed with cream cheese and shrimp? Weird choice but it was good Then it started going downhill from the meat, where they served two slices of steak, it’s a very average cut that’s cooked to medium well, and served with spinach and zucchini salad? That whole dish was a mess and the spinach was not properly picked, it had no dressing, it genuinely seem like they just threw a handful of spinach from the bag? This dish was disappointing The scallop dish (the one in steel bowl) was okay, the chawanmushi was okay Then the entree, which was the rice bowl with sake steamed fish and chestnut. The rice was not great quality, it didn’t have the fragrant or the flavor of nice Japanese short grain rice. The fish was like blended(?) into tiny flakes and mixed into the rice, which didn’t add much to the dish cuz it wasn’t seasoned (cooked with sake) and didn’t add texture. The dish ended up being flavorless, with the occasional ikura. Very unsatisfying Unfortunately what was suppose to be the heavy hitters (meat and entree) really brought down the whole meal. The restaurant was homey, people were nice, the pace of food to was a little too fast, there are times when they served the next course before we finished. Not worth the price.
