Sakana was recommended to us by a complete stranger that does not even live in Birmingham. We met on a hiking trail nearby. Now I understand why. I’m rarely impressed by any business or especially food establishment, but Sakana is different. The service was exceptional and they serve very high-quality food with beautiful presentation. We cannot wait to go back.

Food is BOMB! Tuna crunch roll was my favorite. The veggie yakisoba noodles were so yummy, definitely one of my new favorites. The calamari was overcooked so I would not recommend that, but the service with Maggie made up for it! She is very sweet and informative. She got me to try something new, the egg omelette. The Orange Dragon roll and Alaskan were also pretty tasty. I’ll definitely be back. The food is fresh and you’re able to get appetizers and rolls for under $30. A win!

Not a great first experience. Ordered takeout and they forgot fried rice with hibachi that we paid extra for, sushi roll had a hair on top of it, and the salad only had a few pieces of lettuce. The manager was kind but the overall experience was very disappointing
