The shoyu and tonkatsu ramen were delicious. The broth flavor was delicious and flavorful, the noodle wasn't too cooked or soft. I drank the broth and cleaned the bowl. The fried rice (spicy) was delicious. A tad bit on the greasy side, but the kick of spice and flavor of the bacon and meat was a proper balance to the rice and veggies. I'm a huge fried rice and ramen so I was thoroughly impressed with both dishes. Service was great! Waitress came around and checked on us and even refilled our water cup. The restaurant atmosphere is nice. Good/decent music playing to drown conversations between tables and good lighting all around. Would definitely come back to try other dishes and the sushi.

Lived in fresno for years and this is the first time I’ve ever been here! It was incredible. The food was so wonderful and delicious. However, service wasn’t GREAT… took about 10 min for us to get seated even though there was room for just us two.. and the waiters took forever to get our order and then bring the food… either way, I would absolutely eat there again because the food was amazing.

Shobu Japanese Cuisine, a highly successful Japanese-Hmong sushi restaurant in Fresno, has been owned & operated by Jerry Yang for over 15 years, the 2007 World Series of Poker champion! Also met a couple of friends at the same place! Overall, the food and ambience were top-notch 🔥
