Mido is one of my favorite traditional Japanese restaurants in the area! It is in southern Tempe, technically Chandler but it’s worth the drive if you aren’t located in Chandler. The staff is very friendly and the sushi chefs are super welcoming. I love to go for their Happy Hour and load up on sushi! I have tried every roll on their lunch menu and just have to say that you can not go wrong. The Tempe Roll (middle) is my favorite fried roll, and the Pancho roll is my favorite non-fried roll. I hope you get to give this place a try!

We have our usual sushi joint but decided to try something new based on the reviews. We clearly came on the wrong night because our party of three didn’t enjoy any of our food. The fried roll (Vegas roll) and appetizer tasted like the grease in the fryer was old and dirty. The scallop baked roll was so salty that we didn’t finish it. The spicy California roll was decent but it’s sort of hard to mess that up. The server was very nice. Took awhile to get our rolls but that was just because it was so busy. Which clearly speaks for other people’s opinion of the place but maybe we just came on a bad night. We had high expectations of the place because of the reviews but it’s likely that we won’t be back.

Good food , good service, the atmosphere can use some tlc and a heavy spring cleaning.The last 3 times I ate here food was great, but the air is musty and My GF and I allergies go crazy and someone is always sick coughing! 3 out of 3 times!! To the owners please if you have someone sick coughing non stop in such a small place can you please say something on behalf of all the guests. Please also change the air filters. The bar area didn’t look open for use either. If this place steps up in ambiance and cleanliness this could be a solid 4.5
