They were short a couple of chefs tonight and told us we were going to have about a 15-minute wait, but that they would comp us some appetizers. NO PROBLEM!! ALL the food was good, and got to try some appetizers that we hadn't had before.

My family and I had a very disappointing experience at ShoGuns. The overall restaurant was extremely unsanitary. We had a leak directly over our table. Water was dripping from a dirty vent on the ceiling, splattering not only our food and drinks but also on us. Additionally, one of the lights above us blew, prob short circuited due to the water, which felt like a safety hazard. To make matters worse, a couple of our family members had a separate bill, but they were still charged a 20% automatic gratuity for a party of two, which seemed excessive. We didn’t want to make too big of a deal out of the issues, since we were there having a birthday dinner. So we quietly addressed the issues with the manager. At first, she was thankful that we chose to pull her aside rather than make a scene, and she said our bill would be discounted for the inconvenience. However, she was rude and dismissive when our family member tried to address the automatic gratuity added to their bill for a party of 2. Our bill was $274.28, and the “discount” she added was $31.77. That felt completely inadequate for the health and safety risks we faced. It is shameful that the manager allows guests to be exposed to unclean/unsafe areas and even more shameful that she feels the amount of compensation she added, was sufficient. Overall, I was very unimpressed with the cleanliness and customer service at this establishment. I cannot recommend ShoGuns until they address these serious issues and we will not return.

We had an amazing time tonight for my birthday! The rice and steak were especially delicious. Wonderful server and chef! Thanks for the great dinner and family experience.
